Story
This year, the Noy Scott boys are fundraising in memory of our late Nana, who, in the latter stages of her life, battled dementia. As many of you who have been affected by dementia will know, it can be incredibly difficult—not only for the person living with it, but also for their loved ones. A few years ago, Nana began to struggle with putting names to faces, and over time her memory lapses became more noticeable. During conversations, she would sometimes fondly reminisce about her grandchildren coming to visit—without realising she was speaking to us at that very moment. Thankfully, she never had a bad word to say! Despite everything, she never lost her love of a good cup of tea with a biscuit (or two)—a habit that truly never wavered.
To honour our love for Nana, we have chosen to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of Dementia Research UK. Their ongoing work provides vital support and expertise for people and families affected by dementia. We would be so grateful for any donations made. Whilst Ollie has unfortunately had to pull out of the race due to injury, we will carry our brother across the finish line (in spirit!) and get through this as a family as we always do. You can give directly through this page, or if you’d prefer, through either of our individual fundraising pages linked below.
As you may know, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
