Our teams story...

We have decided to do the Giants Causeway hike on 26th June 2021 in memory of our colleagues sister Emma Thompson nee. Tasker-Lynch.

Emma was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the end of January 2020, shortly before the corona virus escalated, and lockdown took hold. This created a number of problems for Emma and her husband Alan not least because they had 3 young children, Isaac (7), Aoife (5) and Aran (9 months) and had to manage lockdown, work, chemotherapy and homeschooling with limited help from family and friends. Emma and Alan reached out to a number of cancer charities and medical professionals for support and Macmillan along with others provided them with this much needed support. Emma had surgery to try and remove the tumour at the beginning of June, but it quickly became apparent that the surgery was not as successful as we hoped. The work performed by the charity was appreciated greatly during these very difficult circumstances. Sadly Emma died on the 9th of Novemeber 2020 after a valiant battle.
