Team Fundraising for Who Dares Cares and the KOSB Benevolence Heritage Appeal

Raising money for Who Dares Cares

Founded in 2016 by two former serving soldiers, Calum MacLeod and Colin Maclachlan, Who Dares Cares has a team of volunteers committed to supporting our Armed Forces and Blue Light Services personnel, including their families, who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Story

OPERATION BORDER LADS – SIX KOSB VETERANS KIRKPATRICK COAST TO COAST (Kc2c) 262 Miles – ONE CAUSE THAT MATTERS 20 – 23 July 2026

In a group where the average age is somewhere north of 60 (and proudly so), six KOSB veterans are taking on the Kirkpatrick Coast to Coast (Kc2c) cycle challenge to support two causes - Who Dares Cares, a charity dedicated to helping Veterans and members of the Blue Light Community affected by PTSD and other mental health challenges and the KOSB Benevolence and Heritage Appeal, launched in Apr 2026 to ensure long-time support for Veterans and the preservation of our Regimental History.

Monies raised will be shared between Who Dares Cares Charity and the KOSB Benevolence and Heritage Appeal.

We are not professional cyclists.

We are not chasing records.

But we are determined.

Having already completed the NC500 twice, raising funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Help for Heroes, and Cancer Research, we are back in the saddle once again — this time tackling the Kc2c to continue supporting those who have served.

The Challenge:

• 🚴‍♂️ Six Veterans

• 📍 Kirkpatrick Coast to Coast (Kc2c) – 262 Miles

• 🎂 Average age: 64 (383 years between us)

• 💪 Plenty of stubbornness, questionable knees, and dark humour

How You Can Help:

Every pound donated goes directly towards helping veterans who need it most.

👉 Please support us if you can — no amount is too small.

Your contribution will:

• Help fund mental health support for veterans.

• Keep services running for those who need them most.

• Give us a reason to keep pedalling when it gets tough.

• Retain the KOSB Benevolence and Heritage.

Follow Our Progress:

We will be sharing updates, photos, and (no doubt) some stories from the road along the way.

From Us to You:

We have worn the uniform. We have done our bit.

This is just another way of continuing to serve.

Thank you for your support — it genuinely means a lot. Gordon, Eddie, Charlie, Derek, Danny and Davey. XXV
