On Tuesday 10th June, the Operations Community will be walking the Greater Manchester Ringway Walking Trail in groups.

This community day is to encourage team work and to spend time with people within the community you wouldn’t usually. Every group will have a different experience of the day but ultimately we will all be giving back to our wider community by raising money for the following selected charities:

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent cancer charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, education, and advocacy. Most of us know someone affected by cancer, and the money raised helps fund life-saving work—supporting scientists, doctors, and nurses who are making real progress in preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer

Bleakholt Sanctuary

Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary is one of the largest sanctuaries in the North West, dedicated to caring for abandoned, neglected, and unwanted animals. Every donation goes directly towards food, shelter, veterinary care, and rehoming efforts—giving hundreds of dogs, cats, farm animals, and small pets a second chance at a happy life.

This charity needs our help now more than ever to continue their amazing work who rely solely on donations so every penny donated will help to make a life changing difference to their animals.

MIND

Mind is here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn. The money you raise helps fund life-changing services like Mind’s helplines, local support networks, crisis care, and campaigns that fight for better mental health support across the UK. Every donation helps someone feel heard, supported, and less alone.

Little Green Sock Project

This charity is based in Trafford and provides free, preloved clothing and essentials to families in crisis. By redistributing donations, they support over 1,000 children yearly, promoting sustainability and reducing financial strain on families. Their services also address seasonal needs and work closely with local referral partners to ensure comprehensive support.
