BRANDON'S STORY: October 2015, Brandon-Lee Davies tragically lost his life to an Asthma attack aged just 16. After life support machines were switched off, his mother Jennifer could not bring herself to leave his body. Little Havens children's hospice opened their doors to Brandon and his family, and rather than Brandon lay in a coffin, in a Chapel of rest, they made all the arrangements necessary in order for Brandon to have his own room there, decorated in his favourite colours, with his favourite pictures, posters and his name in huge letters upon the wall, were Jennifer, and her family could spend those final days beside his side prior to the funeral.

"I never knew what to expect when Little Havens offered us this gesture. They had given him his own room, decorated so beautifully and there he was, my darling boy, sleeping. I got to spend 8 precious days next to him, saying goodbye the way I wanted to. My family and I were surrounded by the staff and volunteers at Little Havens, who are literally angels on earth. Those selfless people were there every second to offer us constant support, care, guidance and counselling. I found myself wondering how these incredible people live their lives carrying for so many families through this harrowing and dark journey, and with such consistent compassion. I will never ever forget what they did for my family and me and I'll be etenally grateful."
