My friend Jon, who was born with spina bifida with paralysis in his lower limbs and who has never been on public transport, is challenging himself to journey across Scotland, in our version of Race Across the World. Carrying rucksacks, Jon with his crutches and Suzanne with her poles, will we manage to make all the connections? Will the transport turn up on time?

Destination John O Groats, via Skye, we will be starting in Comrie with a bacon roll before embarking on the first leg of our journey to Tyndrum by bus and we hope to end at the Royal Hotel, Comrie for a well-earned drink, 5 days later.

Using buses, trains, boats, taxis and cars, we are aiming to travel on as many forms of transport as possible.

We are fundraising for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland which was formed 60 years ago. One of the founders of SBH was Jon's Mum. This is our small effort to help and encourage those affected by these conditions.

Each year Spina bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland need to raise over £1 million to provide dedicated support services for children, young people and adults affected by these lifelong, complex conditions. With little statutory funding they rely almost solely on donations from amazing people like you!

Although classed as rare conditions, 1 in every 1000 pregnancies are affected and in this country, SBH Scotland is the only charity with a remit to support every one affected.
