Story
The climate crisis disproportionately affects the poorer in our global societies. It is taking the homes, lives and livelihoods of people who have done very little to cause it. As the frequency and intensity of disasters such as drought and flooding are amplified by warming temperatures and as food insecurity increases, people are being forced to leave their homes, deepening poverty and inequalities. As a result, there is an expectation of increases in the number of conflicts and in the numbers of refugees. This is very much a humanitarian crisis and it is happening now.
Money has been promised to nations most affected by the climate crisis, but so far what has actually been paid falls far short of what was pledged and shorter still of what is needed.
As parents we are coming together to raise funds and awareness of this issue, hoping to amplify the voices of those affected. Please stand with us.
