We’re fundraising for Prevent Breast Cancer, the only UK charity dedicated solely to funding ground-breaking research aimed at preventing breast cancer for future generations. Their research will one day bring about a world where breast cancer is preventable and thousands are saved from ever experiencing this terrible disease.

Breast cancer has touched our lives in a deeply personal way. We’ve seen firsthand how important research, early detection, screening, and prevention truly are.

Paula was working at the Nightingale Centre in the prevention research team when her mum was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. Thankfully, she made a full recovery. However, this led Paula and her sisters to discover they were at high risk. All three began regular screening, and Paula went on to have risk-reducing surgery. Soon after, her eldest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer—but thanks to early detection, it was caught in time. Her other sister later also chose to undergo risk-reducing surgery.

These experiences have shaped why this cause means so much to us. That's why we’re taking on this challenge—pushing ourselves, racing together, and giving it everything we’ve got—to raise money to help fund life-changing research and save lives.
