We provide free high quality care & support to people who are terminally ill.

Story

We're six runners from Welwyn Garden City who love to chat, run and eat Jelly Babies. As a team, we're running 1000km in January 2021 in memory of Evelyn Tratt, mother of our dear friend Liz Karfoot.

We are fundraising for Hospiscare, a wonderful charity who looked after Evelyn and her family during her illness.

Please donate £10.00 (a penny per km) or whatever you can afford to support us in our running adventure and to help this wonderful charity.

Hospiscare provides specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Hospiscare supports over 2,000 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible. As a local charity, they need to raise around £8 million a year to continue to provide care, relying on the generous support of local people and communities.

Hospiscare are not part of the NHS. They’re a local charity who rely on the support of local people and the community to allow them to care for over 2,000 patients every year.

Hospiscare only receive 18% of their funding from the NHS,

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Hospiscare is facing a loss of income of over £1 million this financial year.

We shall be abiding by the rules in Tier 4 and shall be running either solo or in pairs, keeping socially-distanced at all times.
