Raising money for St Nicholas CEVC Primary School and Bowel Cancer UK

Story

My nearest and dearest are probably all too familiar with the sporting and often slightly crazy challenges I‘ve set myself over the years, from ultra marathons to marathon swims and long distance mud runs, all generally in the name of fitness and fun and because if the challenge is there why not! I got into Triathlon just as we came out of lockdown, after two years of nothing I was so excited to go to Hever castle to do an olympic distance tri on two weeks notice! It was hard, I was hooked! I discovered the lovely whites and blues that are Medway Tri and continued to level up, completing a few 70.3 mile distances ( without expiring!) pondering if I have it in me to go ALL the way and attempt the full 140.6 miles (2.4 mile swim 112 mile bike 26.2 marathon ). So the race is booked, the training mileage is ramping up and we will be heading to Tallinn in Estonia in August for me to see what I’m made of! ( hopefully iron ;) ) . Which bring me to the fundraising, I thought it best to put my sweat and undoubted time in the ‘hurt locker’ to good use and hope it inspires people to take on new challenges and donate to two charities close to my heart. Bowel Cancer Uk, because its taken two of the loveliest humans I’ve ever been fortunate to have in my life. People can still be squeemish with this type of cancer, so I feel raising awareness & a bit of money for them can only be a good thing. The other is St Nicholas CEVC School, my children were fortunate to start their education here, its a small school with a big heart, monies raised will be given for a sporting initiative to benefit all pupils.
