Story
Our team, a group of four friends, is excited to take on the Action for Medical Research Race the Sun challenge on September 6, 2025. We will set off at sunrise to bike, hike, and paddle around a challenging course in one day as we race against the sun! This incredible journey includes a 34-mile cycle, a 10.5-mile hike up and down Skiddaw, and a 2-mile kayak.
We are racing in aid of Action Medical Research, the leading UK-wide charity dedicated to saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For over 65 years, they have pioneered ways to prevent disease and develop treatments that benefit millions of people. Their groundbreaking research has played a crucial role in beating polio in the UK, developing ultrasound technology, fighting meningitis, and preventing stillbirths. With more than 70 years of funding vital research behind them, they are committed to defeating diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.
By supporting our team with a donation towards our target of £2,000, you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth rates and support children facing lifelong challenges caused by disabilities. Your contribution will also aid in developing cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless children who need our help now more than ever.
