Place2Be is the UK's leading school-based mental health charity, providing support to children, families and school-based staff when they need it most.

On Sunday 10 October, Richard and Cecilia Bogle will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon with #Team Place2Be.

Richard has been a Governor at Holy Ghost School for over 15 years and was an advocate for bringing Place2Be into the school.

Cecilia is a former Holy Ghost pupil and is now studying medicine at London's UCL Medical School. She was a Mental Health Champion at her secondary school and has a keen interest in promoting mental health in her peers.

Place2Be allows pupils to explore their emotions and feel better about themselves. At the Holy Ghost School children can go to the Place2Be room to express themselves through art, play or by talking. Place2Be’s professionals work with the children one-to-one or in small groups, giving regular support for pupils who need it.

Sometimes children can feel particularly sad, confused, scared or angry. Maybe something difficult happened at home, like losing a family member or parents separating. Or perhaps they’re struggling with something at school, like bullying. This can make them behave differently, lose confidence in themselves or find it difficult to concentrate in class. Place2Be is there to help children find ways to cope, so their worries don’t get in the way of their friendships, their learning or how they feel about themselves.
