Story
In Uganda, since 2009, Play Action International have supported over 500,000 children in Uganda through building playgrounds, facilitating play training, and promoting play based learning. The model used by Play Action is highly replicable and the charity are aiming for the same success as they expand to Kenya!
This campaign is to support the initial set-up costs of £24,000. A 1-acre compound on the outskirts of Kisumu will host Play Action's new office, playground manufacturing workshop and guest house to accommodate volunteers. In November 2022, our team of 12 volunteers will head out to Kenya to reimagine, renovate and revive the compound into our new Kenya headquarters, volunteer accommodation, and playground building workshop. The volunteers will also transform an empty field at the neighbouring primary school into a safe, fun and exciting playground for children, that will boost their education as well as enable us to showcase Play Action's amazing work to new partners!

Who are Play Action International?
Play Action International is a UK based registered charity that enriches vulnerable children's lives through play. We support children’s physical and psychosocial development and equip them with important life skills to boost their prospects. We harness the power of play to bring about change through our safe, fun and exciting playgrounds and play-based programmes across East Africa and beyond.
Why Kenya?
Almost 1.13 million children of primary school age (6 to 13 years old) are out of school in Kenya. Education is one of the most effective ways for people to break the cycle of poverty and our playgrounds and play-based programmes encourage children to go to school and enhance their learning.
Why we need your help?
As a charity, Play Action International rely on the friendship and generosity of our supporters to help us deliver our work and to support our expansion so we can reach more children though our work.
Where will your money go?
When you donate to our team, you can be assured that your money is being used as follows: 78% Kenya Set-Up, 18% In-country costs, and 4% Support Costs.
At Play Action International, our mission is to create opportunities for disadvantaged children to learn, develop and heal through play
