As May Queen for the 4th Sheffield Girls Brigade 2026 to 2027, for my year in office I will be fundraising for breast cancer now, a charity that is funding research into secondary spread.

When breast cancer spreads around the body, it's called secondary breast cancer. It can be treated, but it currently can't be cured. Their research could help buy more time so people can live their lives to the fullest for as long as possible. 

I have chosen to support this worth while charity after losing my mum to secondary breast cancer in 2024, aged just 55 years old. My Mum was initially diagnosed with treatable breast cancer in December 2022, after a year of treatment she was given the all clear in November 2023, however the cancer returned 8 months later having spread to other areas, she lost her fight in October 2024.

I am planning on doing multiple fundraising activities throughout the year, which I will add details of to this page.
