Welcome to the Beginner Guitar Academy Practice-a-Thon, a month-long January challenge where BGA students around the world commit to practising guitar every day — all to support Jessie’s Fund, a charity helping children with additional and complex needs or serious illness communicate through music.

Music can bypass barriers, unlock expression, and help children connect with the world around them. Jessie’s Fund brings that gift to children who need it most.

By joining the Practice-a-Thon, your practice becomes their voice.

🌟 How It Works

1. Practise guitar daily in January

Even 10 minutes a day makes a difference.

2. Track your practice time

Use the printable or digital tracker provided.

3. Share your fundraising page

Ask friends and family to sponsor your efforts — a fixed donation or a pledge per minute/day practised.

4. Raise money to support Jessie’s Fund

All donations go directly to the charity through JustGiving.

5. Celebrate together at the end of the month

We’ll host a special live event and award digital certificates to all participants.

💬 Why This Matters

Jessie’s Fund helps children with complex needs express themselves through music therapy, creative work, and sound-based communication.

Many of these children cannot communicate using speech alone. With the support of trained music therapists, they can experience:
