30 random acts of kindness for Year 30
What a year this has been! I won't use the 'C-19' word but it has definitely taken us all by surprise with constant waves of change!
Before my 30th birthday on 13th November this year, I had hoped to go on a volunteering adventure and raise funds for a charity, which unfortunately hasn't been possible. If there's anything that we all need right now, it's a lot of love, smiles and kindness; so for year 30, I'd like to raise some money for causes close to my heart:
'Magic Breakfast' – supporting children with free school meals
'Age UK' – supporting our older generations to feel less isolated and alone
'Mind' – providing support with mental health
'Bloody Good Period' – supporting girls and women who cannot easily access sanitary products.
Although I won't be taking on a challenge abroad, we all know that the little things count a lot at this time, so I'll be aiming to send 30 random acts of kindness over 30 days from 13th November to friends, family, neighbours and anyone else who might just need a little pick me up! That's the significance of 30 for 30(th)! (And yes, of course the spreading of kindness doesn't stop after 30 days!)
What am I hoping for? – Instead of a birthday gift, if one or some of the charities above supports a cause which resonates with you, please do share your donation (big or small!) and feel free to leave it anonymous if you wish. Please read the individual pages to see what they do – there is some great work going on especially throughout the pandemic.
How can you donate to one or more charities? – Click on the links to the individual charity fundraising pages below. (To avoid any confusion: each link below just shows my name, but you just need to click through each link to find the charity you wish to donate to!)
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for sharing some love and smiles during these crazy times! :)
