Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Project 145 JustGiving page!
In July, Richard Stennett (me), will be attempting a self-designed, multi-day, ultra-endurance challenge and possible world-record (TBC). The aim: to run up all peaks in the Peak District National Park in one effort. There are 145 peaks (hence Project 145) and a rough distance of 560km, which I’ll endeavour to run in 5-7 days. Yes, this is a terrible idea.
I’m doing it for 2 reasons:
1. As a personal challenge / it’ll be 'fun'
2. To raise money for Kidney Research UK
Why is this project personal?
It’s an opportunity to raise funds for Kidney Research UK, a charity that is particularly meaningful to me.
When we were teenagers, my best friend Sam's mum received a kidney transplant as a result of her condition, IgA Nephropathy, which lead to chronic kidney failure. 14 years on, she now urgently needs another. Sam has come forward as a donor with the transplant hopefully taking place later this year. His decision to do this is incredibly brave and selfless, and this challenge is my way of showing support for him and raising money for a cause that does so much for kidney disease research, awareness and education.
Any amount you can give, big or small, will be hugely appreciated!
