Raising money for Fire Fighters Charity

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

On Sunday 7th May, the team of new firefighter apprentices will collectively cycle the 500 miles from Windsor Castle to Balmoral Castle.

We will be doing this across two locations. Broad Street in Reading and The Lexicon in Bracknell.

The reason for the challenge is to raise funds for The FireFighters Charity who are the UK fire family’s charity. They are there for every member of the extensive fire service community. They exist to help all to live healthier and happier throughout their lives and do that by providing a broad range of health and wellbeing services, online and in person.

They are of upmost importance to all involved in the life of firefighters from operational staff, office staff and families.

We will be cycling the 500 mile distance for two reasons. The first, in memory of FF Barry Martin, the latest fatality to happen to our firefighter family who worked in the Scottish Fire and Rescue team and unfortunately lost his life in the Jenners incident. The second reason for the distance, is to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, as we go from his Windsor residence to his residence in Scotland.

As a team of apprentice firefighters, we would appreciate your support on the day, with collection buckets available. We would be grateful for any kind of donation, no matter of size as it all goes to a fantastic cause.

Many Thanks.
