Story
We’re taking part in the Ali Brownlee 5k & 10k to support Recovery Connections — a charity working across the North East to support people affected by drug and alcohol use.
For some of us, this run is a first event. For others, it’s part of a longer journey. Either way, it’s a meaningful challenge, and every step is taken in support of recovery.
By running together, we’re helping make recovery visible — showing that it’s real, possible, and part of everyday life in our communities.
Recovery Connections is the North East’s largest lived‑experience recovery organisation. Most of the team have personal experience of addiction and recovery, and use that experience to support others through peer support, community programmes, and recovery‑focused opportunities.
We work to challenge stigma, build strong recovery communities, and help people move forward with confidence, connection and hope.
