Story

Karen was taken to hospital on the 26th of September with a brain haemorrhage requiring emergency brain surgery. On the 16th of October, tragically Karen passed away due to complications following a surgical procedure.

Catherine suffered a series of debilitating strokes over 9 years. With each one reducing her abilities. Catherine sadly passed away due to a brain haemorrhage on the 21st of January.

Strokes devastate families. Our family has suffered the loss of Karen and Catherine. Therefore we would like to support The Stroke Association. They not only provide support for stroke victims, but campaign and conduct research to help with treatments.

Karen was a primary school teacher. She was passionate about the development, education and welfare of children from all back grounds. We feel the Doorstep Library charity reflects Karen's passion. The Doorstep Library aims to provide young people in the UKs poorest homes the opportunity to read at home, instilling a love of reading & improving their literacy skills.

We thank you for your generosity in contributing to these worthwhile charities and for helping to keep the memory of Karen & Catherine alive.

Brendan, Ian, Aoife & Richard.
