Raising money for UK for UNHCR

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency leads the response to refugee protection across the world. This work relies on donations so thank you for standing with refugees and making their protection possible. UK for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner for the United Kingdom.

Story

We are a superteam of superhero Surrey (mostly) children who want to support refugees worldwide. We have all been impacted by Type 1 diabetes - we either have to live with it 24/7 - or know type 1 family or friends and have seen how it affects every aspect of their lives from playing football to school lunch to trips and parties.

We have run together three times now since 2018 and raised almost £15,000 for JDRF, the type 1 research charity, and now, moved by the current crisis, we want to support type 1 refugees and asylum seekers worldwide. Some of us are runners, many of us are not, some of us have done 5k when we were only three - this may include skipping, unicorn galloping and the occasional piggyback, and lots of sweets to power us round the 5k course! We just show up and give it our best shot.

Everyone is welcome to join our team fundraising for UK for UNHCR . We would love to see you at the Richmond ParkRun on May 14th at 9am. Wear a home-made t-shirt so we know you are part of the team.
