It's time to unite against suicide. 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK. That's not ok. This October, we're taking to the streets across the UK to walk against suicide.

Story

We are walking against suicide to raise awareness and raise funds for this amazing charity, hoping to reduce the amount of people who take their own lives and to provide support for those who are left behind.

The walk has been arranged in memory of my father, who sadly passed away from suicide in 2014. This November will be the 7th anniversary of his death, and I would love to honour him and all other victims of suicide through walking 20 miles through the beautiful Oxforshire countryside, with a bunch of lovely friends by my side. The experience of losing someone through suicide has been the most difficult thing I have gone through, and the work CALM does for suicide prevention and helping people in crisis is truly amazing!

This October I'm taking on the Lost Hours Walk to deal with grief differently and defiantly, and to remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, partners and friends.
Heres why:
On average, 125 people take their own lives every week in the UK.
75% of people who take their lives are not known to mental health services or have not been in touch with them within the last year.
135 people are directly affected by every suicide.
Were coming together across the country to send a message that thats not ok. Were taking to the streets to walk against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.
Anyone can hit crisis point. CALMs free, anonymous and confidential helpline & webchat are there for anyone who needs support. Theyre open from 5pm-midnight every day. £8 is enough to fund a call that could save a life.
