Steve, Lily, Chris, Erin and Helena are taking on the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain on the African continent standing at 19,341ft above sea level.

We are completing this challenge in memory of our daughter, sister and friend Rose Haysom who died in February 2025 and who was looked after in her last week at Les Bourgs Hospice.

Rose had an inspirational attitude to life, always encouraging the people around her to have fun and not take everything too seriously.

She documented the reality of being a 25 year old with cancer on her Instagram to show that even when faced with a terminal diagnosis, you can still have a lot of fun on the good days. We know her strength, courage and attitude to life will help us summit on what would be her 28th birthday on the 20th September.

The care Rose received from the staff at Les Bourgs allowed us as family and friends to share Rose's final days knowing she was as comfortable as possible. She was treated with respect and dignity and no request was too much. Her family and friends were so well supported by the incredible staff there, and have continued to be supported with grief counselling since Rose passed which has been invaluable.

We are aware of the current running costs of the hospice and wanted to raise funds to give something back to its incredible staff, volunteers and the community.
