WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

The team will be fundraising for the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund (VCMF) through its JustGiving campaign, which supports Young Lives vs Cancer.

The Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund was established in memory of Veronica Claxton, who sadly lost her battle with cancer aged just 50. The fund has raised significant amounts for charitable causes over the years, including supporting Young Lives vs Cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer supports children, young people and their families when cancer turns their lives upside down, providing practical, financial and emotional support during an incredibly difficult time.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE THIS CHRISTMAS

With the challenge taking place in the run-up to Christmas, we wanted our fundraising to have a direct impact at a time when every child should have something to look forward to.

The money raised will help provide Christmas presents for children on the wards at Addenbrookes Hospital, bringing some joy and a little bit of Christmas magic during what can be an incredibly difficult time for them and their families.

For us, this isn't just about reaching 874 miles. It's about turning those miles into something meaningful for children who need it most this Christmas
