To honour Haydon’s life, we are taking on this challenge in support of the charities that mean the absolute most to our family. Everyone is welcome no matter your age, pace or ability! Whether you want to sprint, jog, take it slow, or simply walk every step, you showing up is everything. Every bit of support means the world to us. Let’s come together as one, turn our love into action, and make Haydon so very proud 🧡

BACK STORY OF WHY WE ARE DOING THIS:

It is with heavy hearts that we remember our beautiful Haydon, who sadly passed away at just 22 years old, following a tragic car crash.

Haydon was someone full of life, light and love a kind soul. Haydon was truly one of a kind, someone who shone so brightly, full of endless life, warmth and light wherever he went. He had such a gentle, loving spirit and a heart of gold a kind soul who made everyone around him smile, who touched more lives than he ever knew. Loved deeply by his whole close circle of family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, he leaves behind memories that will stay in our hearts forever.🧡

Though he carried his own battles with mental health, he always shone bright and showed up for others. Haydon only ever shared bits of his struggles with his close circle of family, but found it hard to open up fully and often tried to face things on his own. Though he carried that burden quietly, we are turning his journey into something positive so no other young man feels they have to run from their feelings alone. We want to use his story to break the silence and raise awareness for young men struggling with mental health, so no one feels they have to go through it alone🤍.

As Haydon’s family, we know all too well the overwhelming shock and pain that comes with losing someone so suddenly and so tragically. This accident has changed our world forever, and we have walked through those darkest days where everything feels upside down where you feel completely lost, confused, and so utterly alone, not knowing which way to turn or how to even begin to pick up the pieces. We speak from our own painful experience when we say there is nothing harder than facing this kind of grief without guidance or support🫶🏻.

To honour his memory, we are taking on a 12-MILE RUN ON THE 11TH OF JULY, setting off at 10am

📍 Route: Starting at THE BULLS HEAD (Cookley, Kidderminster DY10 3SA)

→ finishing at Haydon’s favourite pub🧡

The Griffin (8 Stone St, Dudley DY1 1NS)

This route is the canal route and has been made to be exactly 12 miles from the starting point to the Griffin🏃‍♂️

IN AID OF - Brake & The Mix

💙 The Mix – Supporting anyone under 25 with their mental health. They were created to ensure every young person has somewhere to turn, no matter what challenge they are facing. They provide free, confidential help with mental health, emotional wellbeing, personal struggles and place a special focus on supporting young men, who often find it hardest to speak up about how they feel. Their work breaks down barriers, opens up conversations and makes sure no young person has to carry their burdens in silence or go through difficult times alone.

❤️ Brake (UK’s national road safety charity)- Founded by people who had themselves lost loved ones in road crashes, created out of a determination to help others facing the same devastating experience. They provide vital emotional support, practical guidance and information to anyone affected by a road incident including all those grieving the loss of someone they love. As highlighted in their work, they stand by people through every difficult step, while also campaigning to make roads safer and prevent more lives from being lost too soon.
