Story
Hi all,
Sarah, Hannah, Simran, Serena, Jess and I have signed up to do the Great Manchester Run on May 26th 2024. We will be running for dad, or as many of you know him ‘Big Kev’.
As some of you know, dad was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in the last year. As this is a very rare form of dementia, it took a long time for this diagnosis to be made, with a lot of difficulties to and from hospitals in the meantime. It affects dads language and behaviour and so he is now being cared for by professionals full time. Alzheimer's Society is an amazing charity who helps support the nurses who look after dad and we would love to contribute to helping them. Also, money from donations are being used for research into frontotemporal dementia, meaning fewer families will have to go to such long lengths for a diagnosis and people like dad will receive the support they need much quicker. Here is the link if you would like to read more (https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-dementia/types-dementia/frontotemporal-dementia).
We are all non runners and we know this will be hard for us, but not as hard as dad has had it these last few years. So please please please if you can, donate to this amazing charity while we train over the next coming months.
Thank you for reading this, lots of love,
Team Kev xx
