Story

When Great North Run 2020 was cancelled I organised Run for Scott Half Marathon and Relay with the help of some of my lovely friends. We raised £890 and had so much fun organising and taking part that I‘ve made it an annual event.

Our Sponsors Verity Gregory, Chris Day Tree Services, Natalija.co Wedding Photography & Events and Slimming World Mexborough have made this event possible by donating our logo, finisher tshirts, medals and prizes. Thank you.

2021’s virtual race will take place throughout February.

Here is our story:

In 2018 my brother Scott was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour at just 33 years old. He’s been through a craniotomy (brain operation whilst awake), radio and chemotherapy. In March 2019 we were given the devastating news that there was nothing more the Dr’s could do for him and he had 6 weeks left to live.

Thankfully he’s still with us today, and for now, his tumour is stable. I (and my brother Ryan) still have my brother, my boys still have their uncle Scotty, my mum and dad still have their son and my six nieces and nephews still have their daddy.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. For this reason Sunday 13th September I’m running 13.1 miles at Great North Run to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. Please support me by donating whatever you can, every penny helps. Thank you
