The Sahara Lads

John E, Jimmy Kelly Snr, Jimmy Kelly Jnr, John M, Shaun, Jordan and Graeme are taking on the extreme challenge of trekking the Sahara Desert in support of St Ann’s Hospice!

This will entail a flight into Marrakesh and meeting other members of the trek group on the 12th November 2025.

We will then travel a further 5 hours to the opening of the desert. The trek will be covering a distance of 48km/29 miles in the heat while trekking roughly 7 hours a day and then camping in tents.

This will be against the elements, temperatures ranging from daytime highs of up to 30°C and night time lows of below 10°C, sharing the habitat with the local "Camel Spiders" while suffering the joys of a small toilet ‘tent’ covering a hole in the ground!!

On the last day of our trek we will climb to the top of the Chegaga Dunes to experience an amazing desert sunrise.

We have all experienced the devastation that occurs when Cancer hits family or friends, St Ann's Hospice provides a team of angels who help and support all and in the most difficult of times. The Sahara Trek donations will hopefully allow for further improved facilities to support and care for those that are looking for some good in the world when it all seems so bad.

Please note, we (the lads) have all paid for our own flights, accommodation and food so all proceeds donated will be directed to St Ann's to help maintain the unbelievable work and support they provide.
