Our Story

This year, we’ve both decided to take on a challenge we never thought we’d face: running half marathons — not just once, not twice but three times!

In September 2025, Pip will be running her very first half marathon, despite a lifelong dislike of running and she'll run her second in December at the Birmingham Running Festival! Then in April 2026, we’ll both be lacing up again for the London Landmarks Half Marathon — making it a triple!

Why we’re running

Breast cancer is a cause that has deeply touched both of our lives.

For Pip, it’s personal: her sister-in-law and aunt have both recently been diagnosed and are facing treatment with incredible courage, and several other family members and friends have sadly been lost to this disease. Breast cancer has left deep scars, but it’s also lit a fire to do something meaningful — to raise funds, awareness, and hope.

For Kelly, this year as Chair of Sandbach Ladies Circle, she has chosen Breast Cancer Now as the Circle’s charity. Many members, including their much-loved friend Vicki who sadly passed away, have been affected by breast cancer. More recently, her own Auntie’s diagnosis has made this cause even closer to her heart.

Our commitment

We’re complete beginners to this kind of running challenge, but we’re training with determination, purpose, and plenty of grit. Over the next 11 months we’ll be building up the strength, resilience, and confidence to cross those finish lines.

We’re raising money for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that funds life-saving research and provides vital support to people affected by breast cancer every day.
