Story
We're raising funds in memory of our mom, Margaret — a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a mother to many — for The Alzheimer’s Society.
Mom had a wonderful gift for noticing life’s glimmers — those small, fleeting moments that make you pause and smile: a good cup of coffee, a shared laugh, the scent of fresh flowers, music that made her dance. Even after her Alzheimer’s diagnosis around five years ago, those glimmers still shone through. She would still dance when the mood took her, show her cheeky humour and stubborn streak, and blow kisses to those she loved.
Although the disease slowly took her memories, her independence, and many of the things we once took for granted, it never took her warmth, kindness, or her ability to brighten a day.
We have chosen The Alzheimer’s Society because their work is vital - funding research to understand more about this devastating disease, finding better treatments, and ultimately, one day, a cure. We want to help ensure that fewer families have to walk the same journey we have, and that more people living with Alzheimer’s can be supported to live well for longer.
If you are able to give, no matter the amount, your donation will help fund life-changing research and provide much-needed support for those living with dementia and their families. It’s a way of honouring Margaret’s life, her love, and her legacy of finding joy in the everyday.
Thanks so much xx
