Raising funds to support disabled people during the Coronavirus pandemic

Story

The staff and volunteers of the Loughton shop aim to walk 150km, or more, in a month during our daily allowed exercise. We can't be in the shop to raise money as we would like to, so we hope you will consider donating money to our charity whilst we achieve this target.

This is a difficult time for us all, but the uncertainty and distress facing disabled people is even more heightened. From worries about personal health and self-isolation to the shortage of carers and the scarcity of essential supplies and supermarket delivery slots.

It costs £9 to answer a call to the Scope helpline. Scope are aiming to raise £36,000, which could pay for 4,000 calls over April and May. Every penny we raise will make a difference, so please dig deep and give what you can.

- £9 could pay for a typical call to our helpline, giving people vital support and information. We need this now more than ever as more people call us for support and advice.

- £25 could cover the cost of providing advice from a trained professional on our online community.

- £75 could go towards our parent support services, giving parents of disabled children practical, tailored advice on a range of topics.
