PTEN Harmatoma Tumour Syndrome (PHTS) is a rare genetic condition that affects around 300 people in the UK. It is caused by a mutation in the PTEN gene, which is responsible for regulating cell growth, and it effects people in a variety of ways and degrees of severity. Common symptoms include benign growths, vascular issues, early onset and increased risks of cancer, developmental delays, learning difficulties, autism and immune system problems.
PTENUKI is a patient support charity that champions healthcare, patient support and research for people affected by PHTS in the UK and Ireland.
