In 2022, I was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer: Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The treatment was brutal, but so far, it looks like it was successful. However, the side effects continue to have an impact. I had a temporary stoma made before treatment to help me manage it, and now Stinky Stan the Stoma is here to stay due to significant adhesions from pelvic radiotherapy. Eventually, I hope to have my barrel stoma converted to an end stoma and the parastomal hernia repaired. Despite these challenges, I am determined to participate in the London Marathon 2024 and cross the finish line! I am fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK Colostomy UK.
