As part of my 60th birthday celebrations (and in denial of the ageing process) on the day before my birthday I’m taking part with Calum Field in The Lap, an ultramarathon which involves doing a lap of Lake Windermere in the Lake District (47 miles / 75km) in under 24 hours. It starts at 6am on the 13th September but if we take more than 18 hours to do it we’ll still be going on my birthday on the 14th!

As part of my celebrations I’d love to raise funds for a project very dear to my heart, the renovation of our Kerith warehouse in Farnborough. No pressure but if anyone does fancy giving you would help make my birthday celebrations even more special, and give Calum and me some extra motivation, especially as it’s forecast to pour with rain all day!
