Acorns supports around 750 children and almost 1,000 families every year. The charity needs to raise £11 million each year to provide its lifeline care. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable. Together, we are stronger.

Story

Hello all!

Thankyou for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, your generous donations will be going to Acorns Children's Hospice, a fantastic charity set up to help unwell children and their families get through some tremendously difficult times in their lives, offering the best possible care and support to produce as many smiles as possible throughout their journeys.

On Thursday 5th June 2025, 32 of us will be embarking on a 160 Mile bike ride stretched over 3 days!

We begin our venture in The Regents Park, London, where we will cycle along the grand union canal until we reach Leighton Buzzard for our first pitstop. We will then make our way to Weedon, which is just outside of Daventry, and on the third and final day we will cross the finish line at Warley Rugby Club... where we hope to see as many of you as possible! (Listen out for the heavy panting, bikes in first gear and a queue of IVs being dragged across the tarmac! 🤣) We will celebrate the finish with live music, a DJ, BBQ, raffle, auction and other means of fundraising!

The ride will be taking place in the loving memory of Mark Payne, a dear friend who sadly passed away in December 2023. Mark took part in these bike rides for years on end and in the process managed to raise thousands of pounds for this fantastic charity, showing just how much of a truly amazing person he was ❤

Any donations, big or small, whatever you can afford, will be extremely appreciated to help such a selfless organisation continue to give these families the hope and happiness that they very much deserve.

With your help, we can make sure these remarkable families never face their journey alone.

Thank you dearly,

The Smethwick Challenge gang!
