Story

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to run the London Marathon. It all started in Primary School when my Headmaster used to run it every year. I used to plot up in front of the TV and see if I could spot him in the thousands of people running. I told myself back then that 'one day that will be me'.

I’ve applied every year for years now but have never been successful in the ballot. For the 2026 Marathon I did something I'd never done before and also applied for a charity place.

I didn’t want to just apply to loads of charities in the hope of getting a place, there was only ever going to be one charity I’d run for and after months of waiting I received the news I’d been waiting so long for…..

Out of thousands and thousands of applications I had been chosen to be one of the people to represent National Autistic Society and in April 2026 I will be running THE LONDON MARATHON!!!

Why am I taking on this challenge I hear you ask. Well.......

I've been running for the National Autistic Society for around 5 years now. I first started when my best friend and her family were trying to get their son Harry into a special needs schooI and I became aware of just how little support and awareness there was for people with Autism.

Fast forward to now and Harry is thriving, my Great Niece Harper has been diagnosed with Autism as has my own Son Lenny.

When Lenny received his diagnosis the doctor said something that stuck with me. She said 'Lenny doesn't need to change, he's perfect, it's the world that needs to change for Lenny'.....

That's why, even though a lot has changed in the 5 years I've been fundraising for NAS it is not enough.....there is still so much ignorance and not enough awareness regarding Autism and I have made it my mission to continue to help change this no matter how long it takes.

Did I mention that 2 weeks prior to this I will also be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for NAS as well?.....😳😂.

I have separate fundraising pages for each event and I would be so grateful if you could please spread your donation over the two so I can smash my targets for both.

Every tiny donation helps so please, if you can, please donate and share my page far and wide.
