Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Team page.
Like many areas of society Charities have been badly hit by the lockdown to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. There much needed work continues but there sources of revenue to fund this has vastly decreased. Normally in June we would hold our annual Bishop's sponsored walk to Rodsley to raise funds for our charities of Rainbows and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospices, but this has been cancelled to adhere to the government guidelines. But where there is a will there is a way!
The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust are aiming to raise £500 for each of our two charities (Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and Rainbow's Children's hospice by challenging our school communities to collectively run, walk, cycle or swim the 2540 miles the distance from Rodsley (where St Ralph Sherwin was born) to the Venerable English College in Rome (where St Ralph Sherwin was sent from on his mission back to England) and back again. We will aim to cover this distance throughout the month of June and track our miles using the Strava platform.
Our school communities in the southern half of the CMAT will be covering the same distance from Rodsley to Rome fundraising for Rainbows, and our school communities in the northern half of the CMAT will be covering the same distance from Rome to Rodsley and raising funds for Bluebell Wood.
