2000 people every year lose their lives from Aortic Dissection in the UK.

Yet most people have never heard of it.

This was us, before December 2020, when we tragically lost our dearest friend Nev, to Aortic Dissection. Nev suffered a partial dissection 4 days before losing his fight, leaving behind a cherished family, and friends who adored him. He lit up the lives of everyone who knew him, and none of our worlds have been the same since.

As a family, we are passionate about raising awareness of Aortic Dissection, the risk factors, screening options, importance of early diagnosis and treatment options. If we can help to save just one life, through spreading the word, that is good enough for us.

However, spreading the word is not enough. The Aortic Disserction Charitable Trust need funds to help them support people affected by Aortic Dissection - survivors, high risk groups, families, the NHS, to name but a few.

In order to do all of this, we needed to give YOU, a reason to donate.

On the 25th of May this year, 'Team Storey' (comprising of Rachel, Eve and Izzy running, with Bob as our moral support), will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon (despite Rachel vowing never to run again, 6 years ago, and Izzy being new to running!).

Training has been underway for a while, with a few bumps along the way, to say the least! However, we know we are the lucky ones, and we push on, with the goal in sight. Your donations will help keep us going.

We will be immensely grateful for any donations you are kind enough to spare, and thank you all in advance.
