Story
As part of Stonegate Group, I am supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) who are taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling rubbish, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living.
125 lives are lost every week to suicide. Suicide is now the leading cause of death for people aged 15-39, and men under the age of 50 in the UK. CALM exists to change this.
CALM do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don't die by suicide.
The Strategy team will be taking on the Y3P on the 15th September 2026 in aid of this amazing charity
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a famous UK hiking challenge that involves climbing three major hills in the Yorkshire Dales - usually within 12 hours. It’s a circular route starting and ending in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Expect a mix of stone paths, boggy sections, and some rocky scrambles. It’s physically demanding but very achievable with preparation—and incredibly rewarding with sweeping views across the Dales.
Please come prepared on the day for all weathers (waterproofs, SPF etc) and bring plenty of water and food for the challenge!
The three peaks:
Pen-y-ghent (694 m) – often tackled first, with a steep but relatively short climb
Whernside (736 m) – the highest, with a long, gradual ascent
Ingleborough (723 m) – broad and flat-topped, usually the final climb
Key facts:
📍 Location: Yorkshire Dales National Park
🥾 Distance: 24 miles (39 km)
⛰️ Total ascent: 1,600 m
⏱️ Challenge goal: complete in under 12 hours
