Story
IMPORTANT: There are separate donation links in this page for New Routes and MAP as JustGiving cannot split donations.
We are a team of Student Services Advisers at the UEA. We want to let you know about a challenge we’ve set ourselves in October 2024 - to walk the Norfolk Coastal path. Some of us aim to complete a whole marathon distance of 26 miles, while others in the team are setting themselves a shorter, but equally challenging, target distance.
We are doing this to promote the support available from the Student Services Wellbeing team and to raise funds for two fantastic local charities, New Routes Integration & MAP. New Routes Integration is a Norwich-based charity supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the local community. MAP is a Norfolk-wide charity that provides information, advice, advocacy, and support for young people aged 11-25 across the county.
We want to practice what we preach and hope that by training for and completing this challenge, we can demonstrate some of the benefits of physical activity on our wellbeing. This includes being part of a team and connecting with others, exploring the wellbeing benefits of exercise and fresh air, and understanding what motivates us when things get tough.
Based on some of the training walks completed so far, it’s safe to say that Jelly Babies are a huge motivating factor...but your kind donations will also very much help us on our way!
