Story
We’re running the Great North Run 2025 together as part of #TeamBowelCancerUK.
They're the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity, and are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We are raising money both for them, and for Ben’s mum, Ellie.
This is a charity very close to Ben’s heart:
In first year of university, my amazing mum, Ellie, was diagnosed with bowel cancer. This was a massive shock to the whole family, but thanks to all the amazing doctors and surgeons she is now cancer free and doing great! Bowel Cancer UK played a massive part in supporting my mum through the whole process and provided platforms to speak to other people going through the same thing. My mum is also an avid runner so being able to raise money in a way that is also close to her heart is really special. Donating to this charity allows a real impact to be made to the people and family's affected by bowel cancer, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.
For both these personal reasons, and Sufia’s future career in medicine, we see the vast impact of Bowel Cancer on individuals lives, and feels passionately about helping to fund research, improve the quality of life of those affected, and educate other professionals and the public about the disease, the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
This is going to be a challenging but rewarding experience that will hopefully raise lots of money for a great cause!
How your donation could help make a difference:
• £10 could deliver an awareness talk.
• £25 could provide an hour’s expert nurse support on our Ask the Nurse service.
• £50 could help support policy work to improve bowel screening.
By donating today, we can help Bowel Cancer UK achieve their vision of a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer. Thank you!
