Story
Mark was diagnosed with a brain tumour in July 2017, sadly we knew from early on it was the worst kind and was incurable. By the end of Dec 2019 his health had deteriorated quite rapidly and at the beginning of Jan 2020 he was hospitalised. Within days of being in hospital a bed was found at St Giles Hospice, Whittington to provide Mark with end of life care.
The care Mark received from St Giles was outstanding, nothing was ever too much trouble no matter the time of day. He was always treated with dignity and compassion by all members of the team and they always knew the right things to say at the right moment. Not only did they ensure Mark was looked after, they always went the extra mile to look after us as a family. They made the most difficult time of our life that little bit easier and for that we will always be immensely grateful.
So many families rely on them in times of need and it is vital this service is able to keep on going. St Giles receives some funding from the government, however they rely heavily on donations and fundraising. In an attempt to raise money for them a team of wonderful ladies are carrying out the St Giles Solstice Walk on 18th June. Any donations would be grateful received and will go along was in supporting such an amazing place and provide vital funds to allow them to keep up with the brilliant work they do.
Thank you for your support
