Story
Glasgow to Vancouver (and back again) on Foot!
The Proclaimers said “I will walk 500 miles” – well us curlers aim to walk even more than that!
24 Women curlers from all over Scotland embark on a Tour of a lifetime this November as they travel to British Columbia in Canada to take on Canadian Curlers to compete for the Muriel Fage Trophy. This will involve 6 Scottish teams playing 20 matches each across 18 ice rinks over a 3 week period.
To give us the best chance to survive this feat we have challenged ourselves to significantly increase our activity levels this summer and walk the equivalent miles from Glasgow to Vancouver and back again before we fly on 1st November.
Thus we have 25 weeks to walk the virtual 8730 miles.
To encourage us to plod the roads, streets and hills of Scotland, we are hoping you will support us in our quest and raise funds for Breast Cancer Now as we go. This Charity raises vital funds for research and treatment into Breast Cancer and we are keen to raise their profile and give their fundraising a good boost.
Please support us if you are able and we’ll keep in touch through social media with our virtual progress to reach our intended destination of Vancouver!
