Story
In the run-up to my fiftieth birthday, I am raising money for two charities close to my heart.
So please, no birthday gifts in September, but please consider donating if you can to one of these brilliant causes.
I'm going to play my part and attempt to run 50 miles between 26 July and 26 September (this year, I've managed 100 miles between January and July, so I'm going to have to step it up!)
The charities I'm supporting:
St Augustine's Centre in Halifax supports refugees and people seeking asylum. From 1:1 support with welfare and immigration, to creative activities, English classes, hot meals and so much more. Above all it is a community of rooted in respect, welcome and love. I was lucky enough to work with them earlier this year. Support my St Augustine's fundraiser
Music for the Many is a charity in Todmorden that gives children free music lessons and provides free instruments. It is run by Daniel Bath, an inspiring musician who you may have seen on Channel 4's The Piano (he's Lucy's teacher). I'm volunteering on a project with them over the next three years - they are brilliant. Support my Music for the Many fundraiser
