Story

Support me raising funds and awareness for children affected by a parent's drinking. Nic, Alfie and I are completing the Big Nacoa Walk 2023 on the 29th April. A big hilly trek through the Manifold Valley & Dovedale: 33 km (21 miles) 400 metres of ascent 10 hours. As Alfie might only manage half, he and I will count as one entry - Nic on the other hand is doing it all! Go Nic!
We are walking on behalf of Patrick and McKenzie - my step children and Nic's Kids. McKenzie set up the first Big Nacoa Walk in 2019 in memory of their Mum. We helped support the first walk, Nic helped planning and acted as a guide and I was catering support. Having walked the original route when planning the first one, it's great to be able to come back, enjoy the day and be privileged to hear the stories shared as we walk through some amazing countryside.
Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) is a Bristol based charity founded in 1990 to provide help and support for everyone affected by a parents drinking. We believe that every child has the right to a happy childhood and to live a creative and meaningful life but when drink is the family secret they are more likely to experience family violence, neglect and other problems in their own homes.
Please support us so we can support an amazing bunch of young people.
