Story
Hi Guys, As most of you may know the four of us are all running the Brighton marathon for the cystic fibrosis trust. We’re doing this as Elaine suffers from cystic fibrosis, so we know first hand what it can do but more importantly what the CF trust can do for people suffering. They help improve the lives of everyone with CF so it is a charity that is very close to us, and any donation however large or small are all greatly appreciated.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
Now as you must know our lifestyle choices over the past few years have meant that most of our free time is spent getting boozy rather than keeping fit, so we are a far cry from having the fitness to run a marathon which highlights the task we have ahead!! That being said, from the start of the new year we’ve all decided to pull our fingers out and go for this, giving us just under 16 weeks prep which isn’t long considering none of us had even done 5k before!! So although our body’s are taking a bartering it’s all for an amazing cause! PLEASE GET BEHIND US!! :)
