The Estates and Facilities Department work for Dorothy House Hospice Care and are based at the hospice in Winsley.

Our department is taking part in the Hero Walk to help raise funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care.

Our department covers numerous areas within Dorothy House Hospice Care.

We maintain the main Hospice in Winsley as well as the Retail Shops which covers a 700 square mile radius.

We also make sure the patients, visitors and staff are well fed by our Kitchen Team and the facilities are kept clean and tidy with our Housekeeping Team.

Our Receptionists give a welcoming face to anyone entering the Hospice and volunteer Gardeners keep our Hospice looking great all year round.

Our Conferencing Team deal with both internal and external training and meetings catering to the needs of those who hire our spaces.

Bethany, Jodie and Paul Ash's Story:

Many of you know about my mums story, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer around 12 years ago and then was 5 years clear. However, in 2016 the cancer returned, but she always had a smile on her face, reassuring everyone that she was ok, even with being bed bound, on oxygen 24/7 and having her chest drained on a daily basis. Unfortunately she deteriorated fairly quick and lost her battle in August 2019 at Dorothy house, mum was only there a short time of 2 days.

Things are still very hard for all of us who loved and knew mum. It’s hard to go about every day life without her and wish I could have one last conversation.

So, I am doing this for mum and for a bit of fun to raise money for a charity that holds a special place in my heart! So when the time comes for your loved one they can be in a safe and amazing place.
