3 Peak Challenge Tribute for Jamie (aka The Legend)

In memory to the loss of a beloved school friend, Jamie Baughan, a group of us are aiming to tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on June 12th 2026. This is a 24 mile trek, which we will aim to complete in under 10 hours. This challenge will bring our group of school friends back together, whilst remembering Jamie’s life and achievements, in an effort to raise money for the St Francis Hospice, Romford, where Jamie spent his last remaining weeks under their care.

Our friend Jamie was truly 'one of a kind', which may sound like a cliche, but this only begins to describe how much of a legend the man was. His spark shone brighter than most, and the breadth of his talent and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds. Sadly, on July 19th 2024, Jamie passed away due to a very aggressive form of skin Cancer (Melanoma).

Our friendship with Jamie began in his birth town of Leicester, where we attended Fullhurst Community College and later Wyggeston and QE 1 Sixth Form. In those formative years, we had all found a common link through music, sports, and navigated the everyday challenges of school, with the support of his sincere friendship. Jamie excelled in all academic subjects and developed a strong passion for Drama and Music, as well as being equally talented at sports, where he played our sturdy wicketkeeper for the Fullhurst cricket team. He later went on to train at The Drama Centre London, where he flourished as a student and became an accomplished actor, performing in numerous West End Stage productions, as well as on the big screen.

Given his last days were spent with friends and family, and the incredibly warm and generous hands of the staff at St Francis Hospice in Romford, we would love to raise some money for the Hospice for them to continue providing the same level of care to others in need.

Kind regards,

Chet, Harj, Josh, Luke, Mits, Sean, Steve
