Raising money for Irish Cancer Society

Communities coming together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we've lost and fight back by raising awareness about the free services provided by the Irish Cancer Society.

Story

Team Maries March Relay in honor of their mother/grandmother. Marie was one of the many brave participants of relay for life and wore her purple T-shirt with pride. Sadly Marie lost her battle to cancer in 2018 however her support for relay lives on through family.

This year we will embark on the 'Tree of Life' and plant an Irish Oak Tree at the curragh Racecourse in honor of the strength and courage of all those effected by cancer. The Celtic Tree of Life meaning is ultimately about the forces of nature combining to create balance and harmony. The branches reach for the sky, the roots reach down into the ground. A representation of the link between heaven and earth, mind and body and the never-ending cycle of life. The Celts believed that the Tree of Life was a symbol of longevity, wisdom and strength.

Celebrate one of your treasured memories by having it planted with this Tree of Life and watch it grow into a mighty oak and provide shelter and hope for others in their time of need.

Special thanks to Brendan and Karen - Amour Nurseries, for kindly donating the Oak Tree
