Our two person team of myself and Martin are trekking 13 miles around Ullswater in the beautiful, but often rainy, Lake District to honour the memory of my amazing mam Rhona. Her dementia journey began about 9 years ago, with many ups and downs, trials and tribulations along the way. She fought it so unbelievably though and we are so thankful and proud that, even up until she sadly passed recently, she still recognised and loved us and her two precious granddaughters Eve and Beth. Alzheimer's Society have provided me with much valued support over the years when I was struggling, very often just providing someone to listen who understands what you're going through and who can reassure you. I can't thank them enough. So fingers crossed for some good weather...or at least warm rain!
